This application is only for RMIT Vietnam students applying as a Cross Campus student to RMIT Melbourne


Study overseas for one or two semesters at RMIT in Melbourne, Australia. You will remain enrolled full-time at RMIT University Vietnam while you are away, and you continue to pay your usual tuition fees.

Eligibility

Academic Requirements

If you would like to come to RMIT Melbourne for a Cross-Campus program, you must:
  • Be currently enrolled in a RMIT Bachelor or Master program at RMIT Vietnam
  • Complete a minimum number of credit points at the time of application closes
    • For Bachelor students: Have completed at least 2 semesters of full time studies (72-96 credit points) for a Bachelor degree at RMIT.
    • For Master students: Have completed at least 1 semester of full time studies (36-48 credit points) for a Master degree at RMIT.
  • Achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0/4.0 at the time of application closes.
  • Be 18 years of age or over at time of application

How to Register for Cross-campus Study to Melbourne

The registration and application process for cross-campus study to Melbourne involves a few steps. Check your eligibility and make sure you fulfil the requirements before applying; be mindful of the application deadlines. Follow the steps to register.


Application Process

Step 1

Have your RMIT Vietnam email address (eg s9876543@rmit.edu.vn) ready to create your Mobi application. Do not use any other email accounts except your RMIT Vietnam email address.

Note: Please leave 'Your Institution' blank in the User Registration section.

Please ensure that you have a scanned copy of your passport and approved study plan which will need to be uploaded online in Mobi. Please also read the Academic Information section below, regarding any further steps based on your current RMIT Vietnam degree.

Feel free to download a copy of the Application steps RMIT Vietnam to RMIT Melbourne to assist you through the application process. The instructions will show you how to create a login (remember to use your RMIT student email from Step 1, as this will help avoid delays and miscommunication).

Apply by clicking on the "Apply Now" button on the top right corner of this page.

Step 4
Complete the Inbound Application Questionnaire and student declarations.

Note: You will need to disclose your course selection of your first semester on cross campus.

Step 5
Once the deadline passes, the RMIT Vietnam Mobility Office and RMIT Melbourne Global Experiences team will review your application and contact you with further information and steps.


Academic Information

General Academic Information
  • The maximum amount of courses that will be considered in this application is 6 courses.
  • If you intend to study at RMIT for 2 semesters, please list courses for your first semester of study only.
  • You have the option of selecting core courses or elective courses from your degree program.
  • You can change courses at time of enrolment and orientation at RMIT Melbourne but this will need to be reflected by a new RMIT Vietnam study plan.
  • Please do not select courses that you are already, currently enrolled in and/or will be enrolled in the following semesters after your cross campus program.
  • Check that the course is available in your preferred semester & campus.
  • Courses running for the duration of 1 year are not available for students in a 6 month program.
  • RMIT Melbourne has 3 campuses: City, Brunswick and Bundoora.
    • All courses should be selected from the same campus, however, due to the close proximity of the City and Brunswick campuses, it may be possible to select a mixture of courses.
  • You need to study a full-time on-campus load - Students are required to study a minimum of 48 credit points per semester.
  • Online and distance courses can only make up 25% of your full-time study load (applicable when if you undertake 48 credit point. Note: You cannot be enrolled in an online course if you are studying 36 credit points.
  • Students with compassionate and compelling circumstances (e.g., their program structures differ between campuses - BP222 Bachelor of Professional Communication, BP316 Bachelor of Design Studies and BP325 Bachelor of Digital Film and Video) are approved to take 36 credit points per semester.

Disclaimer: RMIT Melbourne has the discretion to accept, reject or recommend a student's enrolment. Please note at time of enrolment/cross campus program, the offerings of courses can change without notice (especially in new academic years).
 
It is also important if you change your program at RMIT Vietnam after submitting your application, you need to let RMIT Vietnam Global Experience Office know immediately.

Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication) Information
  • The School of Media and Communication at RMIT Melbourne will take into consideration your program structure and assess if prerequisites have been met and course availability.
  • All BP222 Bachelor of Communication (Professional Communication) students need to have completed all first year core courses at RMIT Vietnam prior to their cross campus program at RMIT Melbourne.
  • The maximum of credit points that the School of Media and Communication will pre-approve per semester is 36 credit points.
  • COMM2695 Media & Comm Internship and COMM2694 Professional Communication Studio are required to be undertaken at RMIT Vietnam.
  • Please ensure you have met the prerequisites when nominating courses in your Mobi application.
  • The School of Media and Communication will endeavour to assess/grant all requests but will offer students alternative course(s) due to availability.
 
Bachelor of Business Information
  • The future of business is changing and so has the Bachelor of Business at RMIT Melbourne.
