This application is only for nominated RMIT degree students from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE) to apply as Inter-location students to RMIT Melbourne


Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE) students have the opportunity to study one semester at RMIT Melbourne as an inter-location exchange student.

Inter-location exchange is the recommended global experience for SUIBE students seeking to take RMIT courses in a different location. It is a fantastic opportunity to study overseas in Australia and immerse yourself in a new culture.

Melbourne is the capital city of Victoria in Australia’s south-east. It is a thriving, modern and multicultural city, offering you the chance to explore its many natural and cultural charms. Melbourne’s reputation as the world’s most liveable city attracts visitors from all over the world. A café culture dominates the many streets and laneways, while the natural beauty of the Australian landscape is only a short drive away.

RMIT Melbourne is home to approximately 12,000 international students from more than 100 countries. When you study at RMIT you’re part of a vibrant and welcoming university filled with social, cultural, sporting and recreation activities.

Eligibility

Academic Requirements

Places are limited and are awarded based on academic merit.

To be eligible you must:
  • Applicants are required to have a minimum cumulative GPA 2.0 or a grade average of 60% (or equivalent)
  • Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Applying for only 1 semester length program
  • Be enrolled in one of the following RMIT University programs
    • BP253 Bachelor of Business (International Business)
    • BP255 Bachelor of Business (Logistics & Supply Chain Management)

How to Register for Inter-Location Study to Melbourne

The registration and application process for inter-location study to Melbourne involves a few steps. Check your eligibility and make sure you fulfil the requirements before applying; be mindful of the application deadlines.


Application Process

Step 1
Have your RMIT SUIBE email address (eg s9876543@student.rmit.edu.au) ready to create your Mobi application. Do not use any other email accounts except your RMIT email address. Feel free to follow these steps on how to create your Inbound Mobi profile - Inbound Mobi Profile and Application Registration.

Note: Please leave 'Your Institution' blank in the User Registration section.

Step 2
Please ensure that you have a scanned copy of your passport and approved study plan which will need to be uploaded online in Mobi. Please also read the Academic Information section below, regarding any further steps based on your current RMIT degree.

Step 3
Apply by clicking on the "Apply Now" button on the top right corner of this page.

Step 4
Complete the Inbound Application Questionnaire and student declarations.

Note: You will need to disclose your course selection in this section.

Step 5
Once the deadline passes, RMIT Melbourne Global Experiences team will review your application and work with SUIBE to confirm eligible candidates.

Step 6
Once SUIBE have confirmed the final list, they will contact you with further information and steps.

Deadlines
  • RMIT Melbourne Semester 1: 31 October of the previous academic year
  • RMIT Melbourne Semester 2: 31 March of the current academic year


Academic Information

General Academic Information
  • The maximum amount of courses that will be considered in this application is 6 courses.
  • You have the option of selecting core courses or elective courses from your degree program.
  • You can change courses at time of enrolment and orientation at RMIT Melbourne but this will need to be approved by SUIBE.
  • Please do not select courses that you are already, currently enrolled in and/or will be enrolled in the following semesters after your inter-location program.
  • Check that the course is available in your preferred semester & campus.
  • Courses running for the duration of 1 year are not available for students in a 6 month program.
  • RMIT Melbourne has 3 campuses: City, Brunswick and Bundoora.
    • All courses should be selected from the same campus, however, due to the close proximity of the City and Brunswick campuses, it may be possible to select a mixture of courses.
  • You need to study a full-time on-campus load - Students are required to study a minimum of 36 credit points per semester.
  • RMIT Melbourne Online and RMIT Melbourne distance courses can only make up 25% of your full-time study load (applicable when if you undertake 48 credit point. Note: You cannot be enrolled in an online course if you are studying 36 credit points.
